Professorship in Financial Accounting (W3) (f/m/d)

YOUR TASKS
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to research, teaching and academic administration of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. The candidate should conduct high quality research in the field of financial accounting. Research topics could address all fields of financial accounting. The tasks of the professorship include the training of students and doctoral candidates. The candidate should teach financial accounting courses at the undergraduate level as well as in Master of Science programs and, ideally, MBA programs. Participation in joint research activities within the Faculty and the faculty’s key research initiatives or research centres is expected. The acquisition of third-party-funded projects is appreciated. The candidate should also contribute to discussions with the business community and standard setters.
 
YOUR PROFILE
We are seeking an outstanding researcher in the field of financial accounting. The successful candidate has demonstrated the ability to publish in top-tier accounting journals. The competence to teach financial accounting in all degree programs in business and management is required. The willingness to communicate with the business community and with regulatory institutions is expected.

The position is available as of 01.10.2021 or based on mutual agreement. Formal requirements are detailed in Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz – HG NRW). As a rule, the teaching load comprises nine semester hours per week (i.e., two hours per week is one 90-minute course per semester).
