Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Accounting (Research and Teaching Track)

The Adam Smith Business School (University of Glasgow) is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to post as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Accounting*. We are looking for candidates in all areas of Accounting, but are particularly interested in candidates who offer research or teaching expertise in areas such as:

 

•        Mainstream financial accounting and reporting or audit (including policy and regulation)

•        Company valuation and financial statements analysis

•        Taxation (UK: policy & practice)

•        Data analytics in accounting and audit

•        Machine learning and artificial intelligence in an Accounting Information Systems context.

 

You will be expected to contribute to providing our students with an outstanding learning experience as well as making a significant international quality contribution to research.

The post is open at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer levels on the Research and Teaching track and we are open to applications indicating part-time working hours. The criteria used for placement of the successful candidate on the Lecturer (Grades 7 and 8) or Senior Lecturer (Grade 9) scales are those set out in the Job Specification documents.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that they can contribute to the teaching, research and engagement with practice aims of the Adam Smith Business School in an efficient, flexible and dynamic way. We are actively looking to recruit both experienced staff and promising young or mid-career colleagues, who will be nurtured in our research active and well-resourced environment to assist us to achieve our long-term goal to become a top-50 business school worldwide within the next decade.

 

For the Senior Lectureship position you will be expected to provide academic leadership in your field and to undertake substantive School, College and University administrative responsibilities, as appropriate and as required by the Head of Subject and Head of School.

* In American/European terms these posts are approximately equivalent to tenure track Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) and Assistant Professor (Lecturer).

 

We welcome applications from candidates with a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 (PhD) or equivalent in related discipline with an extensive and established reputation in research and significant teaching experience within the discipline/subject area.
