Junior Professor (m/f/x) in Business Taxation (Salary grade W1, tenure track)
 
commencing as soon as possible.
 
The position is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States. Pending fulfilment of the applicable employment laws, the successful candidate will be employed as a temporary civil servant for a period of three years. A contract extension for a further three years is contingent on a positive evaluation of the initial three years. A subsequent appointment to a tenured professorship at W2 level at the end of this period is intended in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions.
 
We are looking for an outstanding early-stage researcher whose academic interests, and previous publications, focus on the area of business taxation. In research, the successful candidate is expected to address corporate tax-related questions in the context of tax policy objectives, corporate optimization, and corporate social responsibility, taking into account the changes brought about by digitalization. Furthermore, he or she is expected to contribute to the Department’s research focus area “Transnational Economics and Law in the Information Society (TELIS)”. With respect to teaching, the successful candidate will contribute to the Department’s study programmes at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. As Oldenburg University and Bremen University are bound by a cooperation agreement, active participation in the cooperation is expected. Applicants should be in the early stages of their career.
 
The eligibility requirements for the position are based on the statutory provisions in the state of Lower Saxony (§ 30 NHG). Prerequisites are a university degree in business administration or economics, pedagogical aptitude as well as a special capacity for scientific work. The latter is generally demonstrated by the outstanding quality of the candidate's dissertation. For candidates who have been employed as a research associate or research assistant before or after their doctoral studies, the period spent as a doctoral student and researcher should not be longer than six years in total.
 
To increase the proportion of women in science, equally qualified female candidates will be given preference. Applicants with disabilities will be preferentially considered in case of equal qualification. The position is suitable for part-time employment.
