Advans is looking for a motivated Group Finance Controller to join its growing structure. As a member of the Finance Department of Advans International in Paris, you will contribute to the support of the Finance Department and the local accounting teams of the Microfinance Advans group subsidiaries.

This permanent position is based in Paris and includes short-term missions within the subsidiaries of the Advans group.

What will your role be?

Reporting to the Group Finance Department based at Advans International in Paris, your missions will be the following:

  • Provide ad-hoc guidance and support (remotely or during on-site missions) to Advans subsidiaries in the production of their financial statements or consolidation package
  • Build their local capacity in accounting practices and international standards (IFRS 9, IFRS 16)
  • Contribute to the sharing of best practices among Advans subsidiaries, help them set up an efficient and stable accounting function within the finance department, in particular strengthen their internal accounting controls
  • Be the group's technical contact vis-à-vis the CFOs of Advans subsidiaries for all accounting issues and, thanks to high-level supervision and regular monitoring, to identify and alert on the main accounting and tax issues encountered by Advans subsidiaries
  • In relation with the introduction of Alternative Delivery Channels and Digital Banking, review and advise on the design of a specific accounting schemes
  • Contribute to future projects (change of the Core Banking System, implementation of new delivery channels)

 

What kind of profile are we looking for?

You hold a DCG, DSCG or Master's degree in accounting or finance. Interested in the microfinance sector and Advans’missions, you have:

  • Strong training in accounting / auditing with a good knowledge of IFRS norms, knowledge in consolidation is a plus
  • At least 2 to 3 years' experience in an external audit firm, an accounting firm or in a financial department
  • Experience in handling / discussing accounting or corporate tax issues with external stakeholders (tax authorities, external auditors)
  • Ability to work autonomously ; strong eye for detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills in a multicultural context
  • Good computer and MS Office skills, experience in the implementation/migration of an ERP or accounting system is a plus
  • Highly sensitive to development issues: a successful experience in a developing country or in-depth collaboration with teams located in a developing country would be a plus
  •  Excellent oral and writing communication skills in both English and French
