Our world has drastically changed over the past few years, and it is continuing to change. Not only has the pandemic reshaped numerous norms, but traditional drivers of change (e.g., technology, regulatory, environment, financial) also consistently continue to impact the business world. In a world undergoing massive societal changes, enterprises are scrambling to respond and remain sustainable, having to rethink their business models, value chains and value propositions. These responses can be viewed as attempts by enterprises to future proofing themselves against a variety of different futures. In this context we ask, “What is the Role of Accounting and Accountants in Future Proofing Organizations?'' The CAAA welcomes original papers on all areas of research including financial and management accounting, financial reporting and communication, assurance, tax, accounting history, and public sector accoounting, and from the full range of paradigms and methodologies.
