About

As part of the EAA Education Committee Online Courses initiative, we are pleased to invite you to the first live Q&A event of the Online Courses Series, on ‘How to Create Engaging Online Content using OBS Studio’. The live event will take place on Zoom, on October 12, 2021 at 12-1 CET. Registration is now open here

Covid-19 and lockdowns have accelerated the gradual move to online and hybrid teaching from an evolution to a revolution – during 2020 and the first half of 2021, educators were confronted with digital challenges and new pedagogical approaches that only seem to be the online equivalent of traditional classroom teaching. Still an undiscovered land for many, video conferencing platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Cisco Webex Meetings put restrictions on what the educator could do and what the students experience. More than ever before, educators need to become engaging online content creators to capture their students’ minds and imagination.

If you were unhappy how your online teaching looked like last year – if you want to explore ways to create content for your students that amount to more than just sharing a screen – then the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Studio is for you!

We are happy to share an ongoing YouTube video series on OBS in Higher Education, created by Dr Gerhard Kristandl, online educator and learning technologist. Please subscribe to Gerhard’s YouTube channel to access the course’s asynchronous material and register for the live Q&A session on October 12th, with advice on developing your OBS skills and its use in live online and blended teaching and learning. Questions and comments can be submitted to the speaker under each video or posted on the chat during the live session.

We thank the speaker for their support, and we look forward to welcoming you to this live Q&A event.

You can watch the recording here.
