FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
The 2020 NORTH AMERICAN CONGRESS ON
SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNTING RESEARCH
(8th CSEAR North America Conference)
July 3-4, 2020
Schulich School of Business, York University
Toronto, Canada

The Centre for Excellence in Responsible Business at the Schulich School of Business, York University is pleased to be hosting the 8th CSEAR North America Conference on July 3rd and 4th, 2020.

CSEAR
The Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR) has held an annual congress in the UK (often and formerly referred to as the Summer School) for more than two decades, and other parts of the world in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and in both South and
North Americas.

8th CSEAR North America Conference
Similar to other CSEAR conferences, the 8th CSEAR North America Conference will be a deliberately informal gathering and discussion forum for researchers, teachers, students and practitioners concerned with social and environmental accounting, teaching and research in the very widest sense. Its emphasis is on a high level of interaction, discussion and debate in a friendly, supportive and relaxed atmosphere.
Attendees will include academics, practitioners and doctoral students at all levels of experience, and involved with all aspects of social, environmental, indigenous and sustainability theory and practice in accounting and other disciplines. As such, interdisciplinary submissions are encouraged, and both full and research-in-progress papers are welcomed.

Plenary Speaker
We are pleased to welcome, as our plenary speaker, Tima Bansal, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability at the Ivey Business School; Director of Ivey’s Centre on Building Sustainable Value; Executive Director (and Founder) for the Network for Business Sustainability and Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Special Issue
A Special Issue of Accounting Forum on “Accounting for the Circular Economy” is organized in collaboration with the conference. A special stream of parallel sessions will be dedicated to papers on the circular economy, where guest editors will act as chairs to provide suggestions and feedback to the authors in prevision of their submission. Submissions to this Special Issue may also be made directly without participating to the conference.

Sponsors
The event is co-sponsored by the Erivan K. Haub Chair in Business & Sustainability in the Schulich School of Business at York University, Canada and the Al and Nancy Burnett Eminent Scholar Chair in the Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting at the University of Central Florida, USA.
