About

EMFAIC is an abbreviation for Emerging Markets Finance & Accounting International Conference. The host of this conference is the Department of Corporate Finance of the Johannes Kepler University Linz. The main conference language is English, but depending on interest there will be a track in German language besides the track in English language.



Vision

Emerging Markets are economies that are progressing towards becoming more advanced, generally by the means of rapid economic growth and industrialisation. In the last decades these nations have experienced a significant expanding role in the world economy and the political frontier. Not only because of the changing environment of Emerging Markets but also due to the diversification of financial markets the need for adoption of common global accounting and finance practices intensifies. By accomplishing this needs the conference aims to promote the multidisciplinary approach by encouraging and providing the circumstances to exchange experiences and ideas from different disciplines to further encourage scientific curiosity in research and practical work.

Submission

Emerging Markets Finance and Accounting International Conference 2018 is the premier interdisciplinary platform for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of Finance and Accounting in Emerging Markets. The conference will bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars in the domain of interest from around the world. All submitted manuscripts shall focus on/consider the role of Emerging Markets.

Guidelines for Authors

EMFAIC 2018 invites submissions of extended abstracts that provide insights into key research issues. No specific style guide is mandatory. Your manuscript should be written in English or German and should fulfill the high academic demands of an international conference in language, style and citation. Please ensure that names, affiliation, address, phone contact and email are included on the cover sheet. In case of more than one author, indicate corresponding author. One person can submit a maximum of two manuscripts. When submitting your extended abstract of a maximum of 1.000 words, please follow the guidelines below to what your abstract should include:

  • An introductory statement that outlines the background and significance of the study
  • A short description of the basic methodologies
  • A clear indication of the major findings of the study
  • A concluding statement

Accepted Paper and Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are subject to a review process. There are five assessed criteria: (a) specification of the aim and its fulfilment; (b) correctness of methodology employed; (c) work with the literature; (d) coherence of findings, arguments and conclusions; (e) contribution to development of research.



The corresponding author will receive a timely response about acceptance or rejection. At least one author per accepted manuscript must register for the conference and is obligated to present it at EMFAIC 2018.

Full Paper

EMFAIC offers the unique possibility to publish all accepted and presented papers in a special edition of the Marmara Business Review. Paper submission starts with the beginning of the conference in October 2018 and ceases with end of December 2018.



For publication the paper has to be adapted to the style guide of the Marmara Business Review.
